While a section of Instagrammers found Pee Cee’s look meme-worthy, a few others were reminded of the fictional character Edward Scissorhands, the legendary piece with its incredible design elements and craftsmanship, still holds a place of significance in fashion history. It has been approved by fashion critics and stylists across the world.
Without a bit of doubt, Priyanka Chopra broke the internet when she graced the MET Gala 2019 red carpet sporting her iconic look. The sheer beauty was from the luxe label Dior and has a unique history behind its design. The exquisite ensemble was custom-made by the eminent Italian fashion designer, Maria Grazia Chiuri, keeping in mind Chopra’s charming personality.
The haute couture dress featured an overtly long, dreamy feathered cape attached to a tulle cage bodice, made of silver horsehair, altogether which took over 1500 hours to finish. Talking about the other parts of her ensemble, the skirt was adorned with feathers showcasing graduated colours resembling nothing less than a rainbow. Not only this, the cape also had blush pink, bright yellow, hot pink and scarlet red embellishments, adding layers of richness to her look. Interestingly, this was a beautiful tribute to the Eighties-era TV shows.
Chopra, a veteran Gala star, graced the red carpet hand-in-hand with her singer husband, Nick Jonas, donning the exquisite caged dress that perfectly complemented the theme of that year – Camp: Notes on Fashion. She teamed her look with silver-embellished stockings, a pair of matching pointed heels, a medley of silver strings forming a hand accessory and drop earrings.
When it comes to makeup and hair, Priyanka knows how to enhance her style to easily turn heads with her public appearances. She proved her strong fashion sense by opting for bold white eyeliner, brushed white eyebrows, red lipstick and a white bindi. Also, her hair was left messy with a Dior Haute Couture palladium crown on top of her head, sealing the deal for the day.
