In recent years, premature greying of hair has become a common concern among teenagers and young adults, with many noticing white strands as early as the ages of 15 to 20. In some cases, children are also experiencing early onset of greying, leading to increased mental stress and lowered self-esteem.

While medical professionals often state that reversing white hair is difficult, advocates of Ayurveda and yoga claim that natural remedies and lifestyle changes can help restore hair to its natural colour.

Ayurvedic Remedies For Hair Rejuvenation

Renowned yoga guru Baba Ramdev has outlined several Ayurvedic methods to combat premature greying. In a recent television appearance, he advised regular consumption of juices made from amla (Indian gooseberry), aloe vera, and giloy, natural ingredients rich in antioxidants and essential nutrients.

Drinking amla-aloe vera juice in the morning and taking a spoonful of Chyavanprash with warm milk at night, he suggests, may not only strengthen the hair but also encourage natural darkening over time.

Yoga For Hair Health

Certain yoga postures are also believed to support hair health. Baba Ramdev recommends Shirshasana (headstand) and Sarvangasana (shoulder stand), which are said to improve blood circulation to the scalp and revitalise hair follicles. Regular practice of these asanas, within individual limits, could help slow down or potentially reverse the greying process.

Role Of Diet And Daily Habits

A wholesome diet and minor daily practices may further enhance results. According to the yoga guru, increasing intake of green leafy vegetables and performing nail rubbing exercises (known as Balayam) for just two minutes each day may help in preventing early greying.

Moreover, adopting a balanced lifestyle, including regular physical activity, proper nutrition, stress management, and sufficient sleep, can significantly improve not only hair quality but also overall health.

With hair-related issues on the rise, particularly among the youth, natural and holistic methods are seeing renewed interest. While results may vary from person to person, many are turning to these time-tested Ayurvedic and yogic approaches in hopes of restoring their natural hair colour, without resorting to chemical treatments or dyes.
